Meat Loaf

From Quaker Oats

Serves 4

Cook time: 1 Hour
Difficulty: Easy

1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1 cup tomato soup or sauce
3/4 cup uncooked oatmeal
1 egg slightly beaten
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
some catsup

Heat oven to 350F. Combine all ingredients; mix lightly but thoroughly. Form into loaf shape on aluminum foil covered baking pan. Spread catsup on top. Bake 1 hour, or until meat is no longer pink and juices run clear. Let cool about ten minutes before slicing.

Yes, meat loaf. Everybody has to make one sooner or later, so it may as well taste good. Actually, I’ve never made the same meat loaf twice, but this recipe is a good base from which to experiment.
