Sam’s Burgers with Hebrew National Hot Dogs

Grilling Sam’s frozen ground beef patties and Hebrew National hot dogs.

  • Heat grill on high until it hits at least 500 degrees.
  • Turn heat down as shown. (All three knobs.)
  • Place still-frozen burgers on the grill and close the lid.
  • Set timer for 5 minutes.

(Note:  Unless you are turning, or flipping or adding cheese, keep lid closed throughout.)

  • At about the 2 minute 30 second mark, rotate burgers about 90 degrees,
  • And place the hot dogs on the grill.  (Putting them in line with the grate makes it easier to turn them.)
  • Turn the hotdogs 1/4-ish turn every 2 minutes or so, until final timer goes off or hot dogs are cooked to your liking.
  • When the timer goes off, flip the burgers.
  • Start another 5 minute timer.
  • At about the 2 minute 30 second mark, rotate burgers about 90 degrees.
  • When the timer goes off, confirm doneness, flip burgers,  and remove hotdogs to a plate.
  • Place cheese slices on burgers.  Check frequently until cheese has started to melt, maybe 2 minutes. (When cheese has conformed to the texture of the burger, it is done.)
