This might be a role reversal in some families, not ours. I was in the kitchen cooking dinner and Carrie was on the roof of her office ripping off shingles when I snapped this picture.
We have the permits and work has begun on replacing the roof of Carrie’s office. Read the Saga about our first roofing effort to get an idea of what we have in store for ourselves.
The shingles are off and we have some repair work to do on the wood beneath before we can have the inspector visit. We counted about nine layers of shingles and tar paper. Three is the legal maximum. Removing the shingles was like an archeological dig. Each layer took us back in time until we were looking at the shingles applied in the 1930’s.
