We just settled into our spot at the Long Beach Blues Festival when we heard our neighbors chide Paul for having me work on “homework” at the festival.

Misinterpreting our relationship, perhaps due to the 20 year difference in our age being exaggerated by Paul’s looking older than he is and my looking younger, they assuned “Dad” was making me do homework. Siezing on the opportunity to make them as uncomfortable as possible, I explained that we were remodelling our house and working on the plans. I said this as I leaned over and gave Paul a big (non-daughterly) kiss. Later Paul received several “lucky bastard” looks from our neighbor.
