Between the trees and bushes drinking all the water and the shade they produce, the ground is not well suited for grass.  Here is the \u201cbefore\u201d shot so you can see the dirt.<br \/>\n<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/mulchbefore.jpg\" width=\"500\"><br \/>\nWe had planned to put down a layer of decorative mulch, but Home Depot only sells it in 1.5 cu\u2019 bags.  As we\u2019d need 140 bags, we hadn\u2019t acted.  Luckily we found a local wholesaler who sold us \u201cLandscapers\u2019 Mulch\u201d in bulk and for a lot less money.  No bags, just a dump truck that unloaded in our driveway.  <\/p>\n<p>I filled the wheelbarrow and Carrie wheeled the mulch, dumped it and spread it around.  We were able to fill the 16\u2019 by 47\u2019 area about 4\u201d thick with fresh mulch.  It will keep the dust down and will help the ground hold moisture.  It doesn\u2019t need to be mowed and will make weeding easy.
