While not quite crunchy, the rice has a distinct crispiness that Carrie and I both like. <\/p>\n<p>2 Cups rice<br \/>\n3 Cups chicken broth<br \/>\n3 TBS Tomato Paste (Italian)<br \/>\n1 tsp Italian seasoning<br \/>\n1 tsp onion powder<br \/>\n1 tsp garlic powder<br \/>\n1 tsp salt<br \/>\n3 TBS Olive oil<\/p>\n<p>Heat oil in frying pan on medium high heat.<br \/>\nBrown rice, stirring regularly.  <\/p>\n<p>In separate pan, bring chicken broth to slow boil.<br \/>\nStir in tomato paste, Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, salt.<br \/>\nStir in rice, cover, reduce heat to lowest and simmer for 20 minutes.<br \/>\nRemove from heat, let stand 5 minutes, fluff and serve. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I tried this recipe to learn what browning the rice did to the texture.
