{"id":604,"date":"2004-07-07T03:17:32","date_gmt":"2004-07-07T10:17:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pauldearing.com\/?p=604"},"modified":"2011-06-04T16:54:26","modified_gmt":"2011-06-04T23:54:26","slug":"604","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pauldearing.com\/?p=604","title":{"rendered":"The Kingsley House"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After having to abandon our previous house buying attempt due to the DEA&rsquo;s sudden interest in the property, Carrie and I turned our attention to a similar house just two blocks away. <\/p>\n<p>Built in the 1920&rsquo;s, it is a California Craftsman style with lots of woodwork and moldings, pocket doors, hardwood floors, and a stone front porch. It is in need of renovation, which will give us a chance to express our own talents and tastes.&nbsp; It has a much larger yard than the Drug Lord house, which will give us plenty of room for both an herb and a vegetable garden.&nbsp; It has a one bedroom one bath unit where the garage used to be, which will give us a place to live while we remodel the main house. After we move into the main house, this extra unit can become Carrie&rsquo;s office and\/or studio, or perhaps even a garage once again. &nbsp;There is also a 600 sq&rsquo; building in the back yard that can be a workshop, gym, party room, or pool-house (if we put in a pool).&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The part that I&rsquo;ll never be allowed to forget is that while I was away on business, Carrie looked at the house, made an offer, and countered the seller&rsquo;s counter offer.&nbsp; We open escrow tomorrow.&nbsp; Now that she has done all of the hard work, Carrie has agreed to let me pack and then unpack all of our stuff.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After having to abandon our previous house buying attempt due to the DEA&rsquo;s sudden interest in the property, Carrie and I turned our attention to a similar house just two blocks away.
